The Story

An interview with Composer & Producer Sekrett Scilensce

Q: What fuels this breed of Music you’ve unleashed upon the public?

Ss: Anything either wrong or insensible in this world for the most part; I’d qualify that by my own personal feelings and outlooks; toppled with flavors of things I see or hear in collaboration with what many others have curiosities about but may not want to speak of. I really just love to write great music altogether.

Q: So Passion is the main element?

Ss: Yes.

Q: Have you ever had any fear with some of the themes or ideas that are explored in some of your songs?

Ss: No. I am secure with myself and therefore, secure with all choices and implementations.

Q: Are you ever inclined to record more standardized music?

Ss: There are some available in my selections. I am inclined to record what I think will be greater than something else.

Q: Do you see the industry’s current trends & standards as something that brings your Music down or rather, makes it harder for you to employ yourself?

Ss: I do not abound by industry standards; furthermore, I as well do not implore anything along the lines of standard whether it is concerning my recordings or marketing.

Q: So you are saying that it is all open to interpretation?

Ss: I don’t normally digress concerning this, but I’ll say this much; I saw a cover of a Rolling Stone Magazine somewhere that said something like the future belongs to Radio Head or some item; that’s just silly. The future has always belonged to the fans. They put us at the top no matter where we start from and essentially, will put you down once they have either A. grown tired of you or B. you’ve stopped producing music that once connected you with them in the first place. I am not talking about recycling yourself but rather, growing up with your fans but still leaving yourself accessible to all the kids growing up. These kids growing up through the ‘2008 elections and onward will need what we have to offer artistically more than any other segment of culture I think.

Q: You are sometimes labeled over the top or radical...?

Ss: It is both preference & perception. Listen to my music for insight if you’d like but mostly, to be entertained and at that, in a way you may not be otherwise.

Q: So we could say that your confidence plays a major role in your overall strengths as a Composer & Producer.....?

Ss: Likely so; although, I’d rather say it is my opposition to most things that makes it distinct. I don’t like to run around aimlessly. There’s; a lot of unchartered regions for genres and themes to be discovered plus explored. In music, you call to society by creating both a great audio experience and too, delivering a great performance on all mediums possible. In my eyes, this aspect enables the vehicle to make statements or reprise ideas without that antagonistic edge that many will look for right from the start.

Q: Do you like to antagonize?

Ss: Sometimes. It isn’t evil to do so. I have confidence in listeners & observers to make mature judgments, if that is their calling.

Q: So you are talking balance but with less restriction?

Ss: They said we were going to have flying cars; and they thought computers would be bigger etc. In reality, everything has become more compact, mobile, and portable. In the same manner, with a world smaller than a Nintendo DS, what is restriction? Music, if you truly love it and have an idea to innovate it, will push boundaries as necessity toward building into the next great Era of entertainment.

Q: Meaning you perceive your music to be the future?

Ss: Meaning nothing except that the future is here and while not much has incurred betterment, I have continued to build upon the core foundations of music’s artistic aspirations. Many believe it is an industry of selling small plastic jewel cased discs; or downloads; in my view, it is still about being great, greater, and then the best you can be. For yourself and whoever would like to join your evolution. Sooner or later, it becomes revolutionary and in this day and age, perhaps you should seek for that revolution to be meaningful and not just celebritized.
